Adult BJJ Fundamentals

This class is a pre-requisite for all new students.  This class is great for new students getting introduced to not only Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the Checkmat system, but also to our academy.  It is also a great class for upper belts to continue to drill and improve upon the fundamentals of our techniques.  We encourage the pairing of upper and lower belts to promote mutual learning, as well as the continued growth of our program.  This class starts with a functional warm-up and focuses on learning and drilling foundational techniques.

Adult BJJ All Levels

This class is open to students of all levels upon completing the required BJJ Fundamentals classes.  New students must first participate in Adult BJJ Fundamentals and be assessed by the head instructor prior to any sparring. There is continued focus on the fundamentals and our training system through warm-ups and functional drilling. In this class, students get the opportunity to learn more advanced techniques and submissions.  We offer rotational and/or specific training and live rolling at the end of this class.  At our academy, students get the opportunity to train and spar with our Black Belt instructors.

Youth Jiu-Jitsu

Our Youth Jiu-Jitsu program is suitable for kids ranging from 4 to 14 years old.  Some exceptions may apply depending on professor’s assessment.  The youth not only learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the Checkmat system, but they learn mutual respect between teammates and their coaches.  Discipline and respect are two very important values of Jiu-Jitsu as well as in life.  These values are reinforced in our youth program, while children also learn how to protect themselves yet still have fun while making friends.

Women’s BJJ

This class is open to women of all experience levels.  We provide a safe and welcoming training environment for women who want to learn the fundamentals of jiu-jitsu and for women who want to advance their technique. In this class, women will also learn self-defense tactics and situational awareness.  We understand that each person has different goals and objectives when it comes to training jiu-jitsu, and we structure this class accordingly.
